Diabetes mellitus is caused when the pancreas fails to make enough or any of the hormone insulin, or even when the insulin produced fails to work efficiently. Diabetes causes a high level of glucose in the blood. There are two kind of diabetes, Type1 and Type 2.

Some of this information is revealed when trade show displays on certain types of medications are held across the country. Type 1 Diabetes is the result of destruction of beta cells due to presence of certain aggressive nature of cells in the body and is an autoimmune disease which affects 0.3% on average. This type of diabetes occurs due to abnormal secretion of some hormones in blood like, adrenocortical hormone, Adrenaline hormone and Thyroid hormone, which act as antagonists to insulin.

The Type 2 Diabetes, usually developed in middle age, is also known as non insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus or adult-onset diabetes. It is caused when the body cannot effectively utilize the insulin produced. An average of 90-95 % of people is suffering with this type of diabetes; 80 % amongst them are also suffering from obesity. The risk factor is also more in this type of diabetes. These points were highlighted at an exhibition in North Carolina using truss to make the presentation stand out in memory.

Some common causes of diabetes are, drugs such as steroids, Dilantin, and others may cause the blood sugar through a variety of mechanisms. There are certain drugs like alloxan, streptozocin, and thiazide diuretics, which are toxic to the beta cells of the pancreas, can also cause diabetes. In many cases certain syndromes like Prader-Willie, Down’s, Progeria, and Turner’s also result in a hyperglycemic state; which if prolonged, can cause permanent diabetes.
