IBS irritable bowel syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome is caused mainly in women above the age of 35. it also develops in men but to a lesser amount. It has been observed by recent researches, that one out of every five Americans suffers from IBS. This disease is however not so much fatal as Cancer. The main symptom of this disease is sudden irritation in the bowels. People suffering from this disease cannot actually attend any marriage ceremony or any occasions even if they are held near their house. The main symptoms of this disease are bloating, constipation, cramping, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Researchers have not yet been able to find any specific reason for the formation of this disease. They hold the view that people who are extremely stressed out or are sensitive to certain foods and medicines suffer from this disease. If there is any problem with the immune system, then also one may suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. People who suffer from this disease generally have a large intestine or a large bowel. The lining of the colon is called epithelium and it generally absorbs the water from the elements that move inside it. But if the substance moves very fast then water cannot be absorbed and therefore they move with greater force. This creates IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
