What are some home remedies for the sore throat?

We’ve all had it happen. You wake up one morning and immediately feel the burning sensation in your throat. You swallow your sip of coffee and it only gets worse. There’s no time in your schedule for a doctor’s appointment and the pharmacy is definitely on your way to work. What should you do? Stop fretting and try one of these home remedies.

Cayenne pepper: Mix a small amount of cayenne pepper in a glass of water. Depending on your tolerance you can add additional teaspoons. In fifteen minute increments, gargle the solution. Make sure you gargle before swallowing any. It will slightly burn your tongue; however, the small amount of pain will eventually bring about a painless throat.

Not interested in hot sauce? Try garlic. Put raw slices into your salad and crunch away. Better yet, drop raspberry leaves into your water. Combine that with marshmallow and your throat pain will be alleviated. The original home remedy works as well. Gargle with salt water every so often and slowly make that pain disappear.

Regardless of your treatment, drink plenty of water throughout the day. With a little luck (and some gargling) you’ll be sore throat free in a matter of hours.
